Make sure the Use same settings as my incoming mail server button is selected.Click the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box.Another Internet Email Settings window will appear. Leave the password field blank and uncheck the remember password check box.Enter User Name (this is your CruzID plus so full email address).From the Account Type drop down box, select IMAP.Click the Manually configure server settings or additional server types button at the bottom.Enter your full name and UCSC email address.Click Yes to configure an email account and click Next.Click Next at the Microsoft Outlook Startup screen.
Make sure that IMAP is enabled in your main UCSC Google email settings. Return Address (account - your full email address (for IMAP) (for POP) If you are not sure what to use, IMAP is recommended. Hit the Done button and watch all your email download.These instructions are meant for setting up new accounts and configurations or for checking your settings. Success! You’ve set up Gmail in Outlook. Since you already logged in during Step 1, the appropriate account should be listed here. Your default browser will open, and you’ll need to choose your desired account. If, for whatever reason, it doesn’t, just hit Choose The Provider and select the appropriate company. Outlook will match your email to the provider, which should be Google. With your email entered, hit the Continue button. Hit the + icon at the bottom left and then hit the New Account button to start. Once connected in your browser, open Outlook and head to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts. 
First-time logins will ask for two-factor authentication using your smartphone. If it’s not, go through the usual steps of logging in. You can do this by visiting and making sure the account you want to use is logged in.
First, open your default browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.) and make sure you are logged in with Google. Don’t worry, you only need to do this once to get set up. However, you’ll need to use your browser to actually log in to your account. You’ll still need to prove to Google that you own the account, which will involve two-factor authentication with your smartphone. 
On macOS, adding Gmail to Outlook is a little different from how you do it on Windows.
